An intimate evening with Brian Kennedy Saturday 9th December
Twenty-five years later and Brian Kennedy feels like he is only really getting started. A multi-platinum selling singer/songwriter and highly regarded radio/television presenter, he is a Doctor of Letters from The University of Ulster, a published author of two successful novels – not surprisingly, for a lyricist of his calibre.
Brian maintains a firm belief that ‘music is the language of emotion,’ and after all his years working with Van Morrison he prizes the live gig above all else. Seeing and hearing him is the only way to experience this national treasure of a man.
Experience “You Raise Me Up”, “Carrickfergus,” “Get on With Your Short Life”, “I Hope That I Don’t Fall in Love With You,” “Put The Message in the Box,” “Life Love and Happiness,” in the wonderful intimate setting of First Fruits Arts Centre Watergrasshill on Saturday 9th December.
Last year saw Brian begin a challenging journey with cancer and he cites singing and performing as the motivation for staying positive. In Brian’s words: “The gigs make everything worthwhile, the fans support means the world to me, if anything the diagnosis and treatment has given me greater focus and determination to get through it all. Music is the ultimate healer and my voice has never let me down” Seeing him perform live is all the proof that’s needed.
Tickets €22.50 (plus booking fee) from Watergrasshill Post Office, 086 0802631 and www.firstfruitsartscentre.ie. Show 8.15pm
